Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a frame speed, in an imaging device having a mechanical shutter drive.SOLUTION: An imaging device comprises: an imaging element having a NULL pixel region where no light receiving element exists in a predetermined number of rows of all columns, at an end part on a light receiving surface, and a remaining effective pixel region where light receiving elements exist; image signal reading means for sequentially reading the effective pixel region after reading the NULL pixel region from the imaging element; a rear curtain shutter operating so as to sequentially cover the light receiving surface of the imaging element from one direction; electronic shutter means for resetting residual electric charge of the imaging sensor in row unit on the same track as the rear curtain shutter; and counting means for resetting a first row of the effective pixels by the electronic shutter and then counting. A storage time of the imaging element is controlled by the electronic shutter, the counting means, and the rear curtain shutter. At a time when the counting means counts a time shorter than a predetermined storage time, reading is performed in an order of the NULL pixel region and the effective pixel region.
