PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of prolonging the service life of illumination means and preventing the degradation of image quality.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus 10 includes a housing 11, an imaging element 12 which is provided in the front center part of the housing 11 and images a predetermined range, an illumination part 13 which is arranged adjacent to the imaging element 12 and illuminates the imaged predetermined range, an illuminance sensor 14 which detects ambient illuminance, and an illumination control part 15 which decreases the light quantity of illumination light from the illumination part 13 as illuminance detected by the illuminance sensor 14 becomes higher.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
