Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device that allows a simple configuration to acquire excellent polarization information.SOLUTION: An imaging device has: an image pick-up element that receives light from a subject; a first phase difference plate that gives a relative phase difference of π/2 between a slow phase axis direction and an advance phase axis direction; a second phase difference plate that can change the relative phase difference to be given between the slow phase axis direction and the advance phase axis direction; a polarizer that extracts a polarization component to be guided to the image pick-up element; setting means that sets the relative phase difference of the second phase difference plate; and a processing unit that creates a picture on the basis of an output of the image pick-up element. The first phase difference plate and second phase difference plate and polarizer are arranged in order from a subject side to an image pick-up element side, and the second phase difference plate has the slow phase axis direction or the advance phase axis direction inclined with respect to the slow phase axis direction or the advance phase axis direction of the first phase difference plate. The setting means is configured to change the relative phase difference of the second phase difference plate in accordance with the polarization component of the light from the subject, and the processing unit is configured to create the picture larger in a frame rate than 0.01fps.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
