Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a miniaturized thin image-pickup device for shifting images. SOLUTION: Between a lens 23 and an image-pickup element 26 of this image-pickup device 20, a space filter 24 provided with plural birefringent plates 33-35 is interposed. At least one of these plates 33-35 is tilted with respect to a reference plane 37 vertical to the optical axis 22 of the lens 23. A birefringent plate driving part 25 rotates the angle of at least one birefingent plate, including the tilted double refraction plate 33 among all the the plates 33-35 by a predetermined reference angle with a reference axis parallel to the optical axis 22 as a center, each time the image pickup element performs photoelectric conversion for generating image signals. As a result, the optical path of light from an object 21 after passing through the space filter 24 is moved parallel to the optical axis 22 each time the image-pickup element performs photoelectric conversion. As a result, the image-pickup device 20 is miniaturized and thinned more than the image-pickup device of the conventional technique which shifts the images.
