PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a high-precision still picture imaging device where no field angle changes between imaging of motion picture and imaging of still picture, power consumption at imaging of still picture is suppressed, and there is a merit in sensitivity or miniaturization compared to a single-piece method when the number of pixels of a still picture which can be imaged is identical.
SOLUTION: A CCD for G is so provided as to be displaced relative to CCDs for R and B by 1/2 pixel in horizontal/vertical direction, to provide brightness signals Y1 and Y2 of two systems which have the number of pixels twice of RGB in horizontal direction and are present displaced by 1/2 pixel in vertical direction. At imaging a still picture, the Y1 and Y2 are outputted while only Y1 is outputted, with sampling frequency dropped, at imaging motion picture. With this configuration, no field angle changes between imaging of motion picture and imaging of still picture, while power consumption is suppressed because the CCD driving frequency at imaging of still picture is identical with that for motion picture, providing merit in sensitivity as less number of pixels are required for CCD.
