To provide an imaging apparatus capable of properly displaying a field image.
A mobile terminal 10 is composed of: a main body; an upper cover turnably coupled to one-side end of the main body; and a lower cover turnably coupled to the other-side end of the main body. An image sensor 24 is provided on the upper cover to image an object field. A main LCD 32 is provided on the surface of the main body to display an image of the field imaged by the image sensor 24. A CPU 44 discriminates whether or not the attitude of both the covers satisfies a prescribed condition through an opening, closing/twist detection circuit 42, validates an area including at least part of the main LCD 32 when the discrimination result is affirmative, and the CPU 44 sets a resolution corresponding to the size of the validated area to the image sensor 24.
