To provide an imaging apparatus having an image blurring correction control function capable of preventing the image blurring of an object intended to be photographed by a user.
A photographing optical system (ICS) forms an optical image of an object (P1) by a plurality of lens groups (101a, 101b) including an image blurring preventing lens (1) for preventing image blurring by controlling movement vertical to an optical axis. An image pickup element (106) picks up the optical image of the object (P1), converts the optical image into an electric image signal (Sv) and an image processing part (107) displays and stores output image signals (Sv1, Sv2) of the image pickup element (106). An image blurring control part (104a) is constituted of an image blurring correction error calculation part (39) for calculating an image blurring correction error (ISe) and an image correction part (107) for correcting the segmentation position of the image signal (Sv1) on the basis of the image blurring correction error (ISe) to control the movement of image blurring preventing lenses (1; 102).
