Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device capable of generating pickup still images without missing any unexpected shutter chance.SOLUTION: An imaging device has an image processor for performing predetermined processing on image data generated by an imaging unit, and a controller for controlling an optical system unit, the imaging unit and/or the image processor based on settings on pickup of moving pictures to generate moving picture data. The controller has a first moving picture mode and a second moving picture mode (for example, photo moving picture mode) as recording modes for moving pictures. The controller automatically sets the setting on pickup of moving pictures to a predetermined setting suitable for still picture recording (S14) in the second moving picture mode (YES in S12). The second moving picture mode is set to any combination of the combination of the highest resolution and a predetermined or higher frame rate excluding the highest frame rate, the combination of a predetermined or higher resolution excluding the highest resolution and the highest frame rate and the combination of the highest resolution and the highest frame rate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
