Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a resolution from deteriorating while keeping interpolation precision high.SOLUTION: A solid state imaging element 1 including a plurality of pixels 3A for imaging and a plurality of (four kinds of) pixels 2L, 2R, 2T, and 2B for focus detection (for AF) which perform a focus detecting operation using image light from a subject, a two-dimensional pixel arrangement includes a Bayer color array of a plurality of two pixels by two pixels comprising the pixels 2L, 2R, 2T, and 2B for AF, and when interpolation processing is performed in which the pixel 2L, 2R, 2T, or 2B for AF in the Bayer color array of two pixels by two pixels is defined as a defective pixel to be corrected, only a pixel 3A for imaging among the pixels 2L, 2R, 2T, and 2B for AF and the pixel 3A for imaging is arranged as a pixel of the same color with the defective pixel to be corrected (one of the pixels 2L, 2R, 2T, and 2B for AF) in a region of five pixels by five pixels including the defective pixels to be corrected (pixel 2L, 2R, 2T, or 2B for AF) in the center respectively and in a region outside the Bayer color array of two pixels by two pixels of the parenthesized pixels.
