Abstract:

To correct shading which occurs on the periphery of a screen.

The imaging element includes a pixel region in which a plurality of pixels, each consisting of a light-receiving element that converts light into charges, a color filter formed on the light-receiving element, and at least one microlens formed on the light-receiving element, are arranged. Thickness of the color filter is changed gradually from the center toward the periphery of the pixel region, and the microlenses are arranged with a shift amount corresponding to the thickness of the color filter thus correcting the shading.
