To provide an image pickup device and a camera system which are capable of improving resolution, preventing the variance in characteristic of an imaging device, and improving image quality.
The image pickup device includes a signal level adjustment circuit 30 which has: a function of generating a luminance signal Y from RGB signals, taking out low-band components of a clear pixel C and the luminance signal Y by low pass filters (LPF) 31 and 32 being filters capable of absorbing phase differences among respective color signals, obtaining a ratio of low band signal levels, and adjusting a gain on the basis of the signal C or Y; and a function of adjusting levels of RGB signals other than the luminance signal Y when taking the signal of the clear pixel C as a reference.
