Abstract:
To provide an image forming optical system that forms an intermediate image, the image forming optical system suppressing cost, having a wide angle, having high performance where curvature of field due to focusing is satisfactorily corrected, a projection type display device including the image forming optical system, and an imaging device including the image forming optical system.SOLUTION: An image forming optical system substantially comprises, in order from an enlargement side, a first optical system G1 and a second optical system G2, and forms an intermediate image between the first optical system G1 and second optical system G2. The image forming optical system includes a focus group moving during focusing between the most enlargement side of the first optical system G1 and a position at which a principal ray at the maximum viewing angle and an optical axis of the first optical system G1 intersect with each other, and satisfies a predetermined conditional expression on the focus group.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
