To propose a method of setting a designated block of a histogram of an EVF signal and a pick up image to proper exposure by setting an arbitrary luminance block of the histogram and displaying a pixel value distribution corresponding to the set luminance block in an imaging unit.

The imaging unit has a display means for calculating and displaying the histogram from the pick up image, and a proper exposure setting means for setting the histogram luminance range and setting a luminance value set by a luminance range setting means for the proper exposure.
