NEW MATERIAL:Imidazole derivatives of formula I (X is alkyl, alkoxy, phenyl, halogen; n is 0W5; R1 is H, alkyl; R2 is phenyl substituted with t-butyl, alkyl, or halogen; Y is -NH-, -O-).
EXAMPLE: 3-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-4-(imidazole-1-yl)-5-(4-methylphenyl)-5-hydroxyisoxazolidine.
USE: An antibacterial agent: it is effective against rice blast disease,sheath blight and apple blossom blight and also against bacteria resisting chemical agents and harmless to men, fishes and animals.
PREPARATION: The reaction between an imidazole derivative of formula II and at least one selected from hydrazine, N-alkylhydrazine, hydroxylamine or N-alkylhydroxylamine in an adequate solvent is conducted at room temperature to produce the compound of formula I.
