To obtain an unsaturated imidosilane capable of giving composite materials with remarkably increased wet and dry flexural strength by ensuring neither siloxanes nor halides to be included therein.
This unsaturated imidosilane is obtained by ensuring neither siloxanes nor halides to be included therein, being a compound of the formula [(R1)bY]aR23-aSiR3N(C=O)2X (R1 and R2 are each a univalent group; R3 is a bivalent group; X is a bivalent group having at least one ethylenically unsaturated bond, both the bonds thereof being bound to the carbonyl group bound to the N-atom; Y is oxygen, nitrogen or sulfur atom; (a) is 1-3; b is 1 or 2 depending on the valence of Y). More precisely, this compound is produced, for example, by reaction between an aminoalkyldialkoxysilane or aminotrialkoxysilane and an unsaturated acid anhydride to form an amic acid silane, which is then treated with a coupling substance followed by heating.
