To provide an immersion nozzle for continuously casting steel with which clogging by Al2O3 in molten steel is prevented and the structural stability of which is high without spoiling the cleanliness of a slab and without hindering the stability of the continuous casting operation when continuously casting the molten steel.
At least part of the immersion nozzle 1 for continuous casting for supplying the molten steel in a casting mold is composed of a refractory material 22 of a refractory substance containing one or more kinds of metals selected from a metal group consisting of metal Al, metal Ti, metal Zr, metal Ce and metal Ca and carbon of < 10 mass% which are mixed with a refractory material containing at least spinel (MgO-Al2O3) and/or MgO-containing material including magnesia.
