Abstract:
PURPOSE: To remarkably increase reflux rate by piercing a gas blowing holes in the tuyere brick so that the holes reach the inside of an immersion pipe lines with the brick at an upward tilted angle.
CONSTITUTION: An immersion pipe 1 for an RH vacuum degassing apparatus is lined with tuyere brick 2 and gas blowing holes 3 are pierced in the brick 2 so that the holes 3 reach the inside of the pipe 1 at an upward titled angle. The holes 3 are connected to an external gas pipe. For example, in case of 20° upward tilted angle, reflux rate is increased by ≥about 10% as compared with reflux rate attained by conventional horizontal holes.
