PURPOSE: To enable the measurement of an antigen or an antibody handily and with a high sensitivity by a method wherein a substance having an antigen or an antibody and an enzyme, or an enzyme blocking or activating substance immobilized thereon separated from each other is made to react upon an antigen or an antibody and then, the activity of the enzyme or the enzyme blocking or activating substance is measured after the reaction thereof with the enzyme or the enzyme blocking or activating substance.
CONSTITUTION: An immobilized substance has a solid phase of an antigen or an antibody and the solid phase of an enzyme or enzyme blocking or activating substance separate from each other. The antigen or the antibody to be measured is made to coexist with a bond of the antibody or the antigen to react with the immobilized antigen or antibody and the enzyme blocking or activating substance or an enzyme to react with the immobilized enzyme or enzyme blocking or activating substance to cause a competition between the reaction of the antigen and antibody and the reaction of the enzyme and the enzyme blocking or activating substance. Then, the activity of the enzyme or enzyme blocking or activating substance is measured to determine the antigen or the antibody.
