To provide a stabilized impact absorbing apparatus for vehicles, which facilitates adjustment of a set length thereof to cope with various impact speeds, minimizes repulsion caused by a restoring force of an impact absorbing installation in an attempt to restore the same to its original state after deformation, thereby effectively absorbing an impulse caused by collision, and prevents destruction of the installation and damage of human lives, thereby preventing a secondary accident.
The impact absorbing apparatus for vehicles is comprised of a semi- cylindrical front rubber plate 20 formed of an impact absorbing material, at least one or more unit rubber plates 30, 30' formed of the impact absorbing material, which are arranged at the rear of the front rubber plate 20, reinforcing ribs 40 arranged between the front rubber plate 20 and the unit rubber plate 30, and between the unit rubber plates 30, 30', a guide means 60 for guiding the unit rubber plates 30, 30' to the rear, and impact absorbing members 80 arranged in internal spaces of the front rubber plate 20 and corrugated steel plates 70, respectively. The corrugated steel plates 70 are fixed to the interiors of the respective unit rubber plates 30, 30' in one body so that the corrugated steel plates 70 contract in response to the impact of the vehicle, to thereby suppress repulsion of the unit rubber plates 30, 30'. Each reinforcing rib 40 has at least two steel plates embedded therein at predetermined intervals.
