Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure the section extended to the maximum limit in a frame and to improve the rigidity by arranging a steering input coupler on the top end part of an external tube and transmitting the steering force to a wheel carrier through the cylinder of a piston/cylinder unit.
SOLUTION: A wheel is steered by a leg assembly through a mechanical steering input coupler 16 provided on the top part of an impact absorbing leg 10, and the steering input coupler 16 has a steering arm 18. According to this structure, the steering force by the steering arm 18 is transmitted to a guide tube 15 and a wheel carrier 14 through the piston/cylinder unit of the leg 10. Because of the overhead steering structure in the impact absorbing leg 10, a frame 20 can be constituted so as to be larger in the lower end part, and the rigidity and stability of the frame 20 can be improved.
