To provide an impact absorbing structure capable of arranging itself with no trouble on an articulated vehicle and easily separating a fuse mechanism from a vehicle body for the purpose of maintenance, etc.
An angular cylindrical energy absorbing element 15 is disposed symmetrically left and right along a lower surface of a frame 13a end part of the rear side vehicle body 13. A pair of intermediate brackets 28 is arranged on both sides left and right of the energy absorbing element 15. The intermediate brackets 28 have the fuse mechanisms S1, S2 to break by action of an impact load of more than a set value constituted by a coupler shearedly-connected on a vertical surface extending in the vehicle body longitudinal direction between itself and a connecting body 21 supported on the end part of the frame 13a through bolt couplers T1, T2 and to transmit a load between the vehicle bodies.
