Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impact absorption material capable of absorbing impact energy through compression breakage even if there is provided a rib for connecting opposing inner surfaces of a cylinder having a central axis extending in a direction applying an impact load and provide a process of manufacture of the impact absorption material.SOLUTION: A fibrous structure W for an impact absorption material M has a cylinder 11 having a central axis L extending in a direction applied with an impact load and a rib 21 for connecting opposing inner surfaces of the cylinder 11. If it is defined that an impact load applying direction is X-direction and a direction where the opposing inner surfaces of the cylinder 11 are connected by the rib 21 is Y-direction, the cylinder 11 is constituted by a fibrous layer including a weft 12 for cylinder extending in X-direction and a warp 13 for cylinder crossing at a right angle with the weft 12 for cylinder. The rib 21 is formed with only the warp 23 for the rib extending in Y-direction crossing at a right angle with X-direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
