Abstract:

This impact energy absorption structure member comprises a metallic tube 2 of a substantially circular or polygonal sectional form, and a porous body 3 collapsible while maintaining a constant reaction force when loaded with a compressive stress. The porous body 3 is foamed body consisting of foam metal, and the porous body 3 coats the periphery of the tube 2 about the axis.
