Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the subject copolymer giving a molded material having excellent impact resistance, surface hardness and surface appearance by subjecting a specific compound rubber comprising a polyorganosiloxane and a polyalkyl (meth)acrylate rubber to graft polymerization with a vinyl monomer. CONSTITUTION:The aimed graft copolymer is obtained by graft polymerization of a compound rubber composed of 1-10wt.% polyorganosiloxane rubber component and 99-90wt.% polyalkyl (meth)acrylate rubber component having a structure inhibiting mutual separation of said both components, >=85wt.% gel content determined in a toluene solvent, 3-15 degree of swelling and 0.08-0.6mu average particle diameter with at least a species of vinyl monomer (e.g. methyl methacrylate). Besides, said graft copolymer is mixed with a thermoplastic resin such as polystyrene to afford a impact-resistant resin composition.
