To reduce vibrations and noises of an impact tool, and to increase life of the impact tool by isolating radius transmission of vibration generated caused by collision of a striking element, a middle element, a tip end tool, a cut workpiece and the like of the impact tool driven by a motor and carrying out impact crushing work.
An elastic member layer 30 is arranged between the middle element 2 of the impact tool and a cylinder 15, and the inner diameter of a middle element 2 insertion portion of the cylinder 15 is made to be 2% larger than the outer diameter of the middle element 2. Therefore, if the middle element is tilted by collision between the striking element and the middle element and collision between the middle element and the tip end tool, impact is absorbed by the elastic member layer, so that the middle element is prevented from colliding with an inner wall of the cylinder.
