Title:
IMPERVIOUS MATERIAL AND ITS FORMED BODY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3870260
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel impervious material which adsorbs trivalent and pentavalent arsenic ions, has a high water barrier performance and can constitutes a wide range of water barrier works by spreadingly filling with the same.
SOLUTION: The impervious material having water barrier performance and arsenic removal performance is composed of mixed soil including Masa soil (residual or calluvial soil originated from granite and bentonite), or a compactly formed body of the bentonite mixed soil, a planar compactly formed body of the bentonite mixed soil or a compactly formed body of the bentonite mixed soil having prescribed combined shapes for the execution of the water barrier works by combining the formed bodies. The impervious material prevents the leakage of contaminated water into which the trivalent and pentavalent arsenic ions are dissolved to the surrounding environment over a long term as the water barrier works for a disposal plant of industrial or general waste etc.
