Title:
IMPLANTABLE MEDICAL DEVICE HAVING PRESSURE SENSOR FOR DIAGNOSING PERFORMANCE OF IMPLANTED MEDICAL DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2005013727
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a device and a method for confirming the valve setting by diagnosing performance of an implanted medical device.

This implantable medical device comprises a housing, a valve arranged in the housing, a first pressure sensor arranged in an upstream housing of the valve, and a second pressure sensor arranged in a downstream housing of the valve. A CPU is arranged in the housing, and is electrically connected to the first and second pressure sensors. For transmitting measured pressure information to an external device, the CPU transmits compared pressure to the external device by radio transmission, by comparing pressure measured by the first pressure sensor with pressure measured by the second pressure sensor. In another method, the CPU can transmit an absolute value of the pressure measured by the first and second pressure sensors to the external device by radio transmission. The CPU and the respective sensors can be uninvasively operated by using an optical or acoustic method.
