Abstract:
To provide a method for forming a raffinate product and an extract product.SOLUTION: A method for hydrogenating a feedstock under a hydrogen treatment condition including a conversion temperature of 700°F and raw material conversion of less than 15% to form a hydrogenated effluent comprises performing solvent extraction on a fraction of the hydrogenated effluent to form a raffinate product with a nitrogen content of less than 50 wppm and an extract product containing at least 70 wt.% aromatics, wherein the feedstock has a T5 boiling point of 400°F, a T95 boiling point of 1500°F or less, above 650°F aromatic content of 25 to 90 wt.%, and a sulfur content higher than 1000 wppm, the hydrogenated effluent contains a fraction of the effluent, and the fraction has a T5 boiling point of at least 400°F, an aromatic content of 10 wt.%, a sulfur content of less than 1000 wppm, and a total amount of Ni, V, and Fe of less than 10 wppm.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
