PURPOSE: The titled composition, having improved adhesive property, heat stability and low-temperature characteristics, and comprising a specific tackifier resin, an ethylenic copolymer and a wax as essential constituents.
CONSTITUTION: A composition comprising (A) a tackifier resin consisting of an aromatic hydrocarbon resin having 60W120°C softening point obtained by polymerizing a mixture of (i) 100pts.wt. a fraction with a conjugated diolefin content ≤0.7wt% and its ratio* ≤3%, indene (alkyl derivative) content ≤2wt% and its ratio* ≤8% and a vinyltoluene content of 60W90% prepared by distilling a fraction boiling at 140W220°C of a cracked oil fraction with (ii) 5W 40pts.wt. a 9W 20C branched chain aliphatic olefin fraction as a raw material oil in the presence of (iii) 0.1W3.0pts.wt. a phenol and 0.01W5.0wt%, based on the raw material oil, a Friedel-Crafts catalyst at -30W60°C, (B) an ethylenic copolymer and (C) a wax as essential constituents. [× The ratio is defined as follows: Ratio (%)=conjugated diolefin or indence (alkyl derivative) content (wt%) in cracked oil/polymerizable component content (wt%) in cracked oil].
