Abstract:
To provide a method for producing O-methylisourea sulfate, which is important as an intermediate for pharmaceuticals, agricultural chemicals, and industrial chemicals, by a simple operation.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing O-methylisourea sulfate, which is a method for producing O-methylisourea sulfate represented by formula (2) by reacting cyanamide, sulfuric acid, and methanol in the presence of water, and in which, characterized, 2 equivalents or more of sulfuric acid is used for cyanamide or more in the reaction, and the sulfuric acid concentration calculated by the following formula is adjusted so as to be 65 wt% or more. Sulfuric acid concentration = S/(S+W) x 100 (In the formula, S and W represent the weight of sulfuric acid and water in the reaction, respectively). In this method, because the solubility of O-methylisourea sulfate in the reaction system is greatly reduced, O-methylisourea sulfate can easily be taken out by filtration or the like.SELECTED DRAWING: None
