To provide an immunoassay reagent containing an anti-cannabinoid antibody which recognizes the major metabolites of the active ingredient THC of marijuana as much as possible and has a wide range of specificity.
A new benzopyran derivative which has a chemical linker to easily conjugate with a protein and is represented by formula (1) (wherein R1 is an alkyl group; R2 and R3 are each a lower hydrocarbon group which may have a substituent; and a, b, and c are each a single bond or a double bond) is synthesized and allowed to conjugate with a proteinaceous carrier to prepare an immunogen, and this immunogen is administered to an animal, and from splenocytes of the immunized animal, an anti-cannabinoid antibody having an average cross-reactivity of at least about 80% to all of the major THC metabolites is obtained.
