Abstract:

To provide an improved rheologically dynamic elastomer composition and, in particular, a composition manufactured by using a naphthenic oil carrier and one or more rheology modifier in order to impart an improved rheological behavior as a function of temperature.

The improved composition comprises a rubber latex component (A) and an oil-carrier component (B) containing hygroscopic and vulcanizing agents. When the components A and B are mixed, an elastomer composition is formed, which receives a rheological modification from a flowable liquid to a solidified elastomer solid. By employing as the oil carrier component (B) a naphthenic oil together with an organic rheology modifier, for example, a modified castor oil and/or a polyamide, an improved linear inclination is attained between flowability and temperature. Another exemplary composition comprises an inorganic rheology modifier, for example, an active clay.
