Abstract:
To provide deep rolling tools which are capable of improving performance and shortening machining time.
The deep rolling apparatus includes first and second housings, and three tool bodies which can be placed radially around a workpiece in the housings and each of which has a backup roll radially supporting at least one working roll. The tool bodies are placed on the same plane and the respective working rolls are made to engage with the circumferential face of the annular area of the workpiece. At least one tool can move against other tools whereby it is possible to mount or dismount the workpiece to be deep-rolled such as an automotive crankshaft.
