Abstract:
PURPOSE: To simply and easily enhance the quality of a wire cord by heat treating the wire cord at a specified temp. under proper tensile stress so as to improve the fatigue resistance.
CONSTITUTION: A wire cord passed through a stranding stage is heat treated at 150W350°C under tensile stress corresponding to 30W60% of the fracture stress or tensile stress which gives elongation strain corresponding to 1W8% of the fracture stress. The preferred heat treatment time is ≤ about 3sec. Thus, the fatigue resistance of the wire cord is considerably improved and a high quality wire cord is considerably improved and a high quality wire cord is obtd. simply and easily.
