Abstract:

To enable reduction in an amount of a cellulase added and shortening in a treating time by reacting a cellulosic fiber with a cellulase in the presence of a culture solution of a bacterium containing a biosurfactant.

A culture solution of a bacterium such as Pseudomonas rubescens containing a biosurfactant such as lipopeptide is mixed with a cellulase in the weight ratio of 1:10,000 to 10,000:1, preferably 1:1,000 to 100:1 to prepare a composition. A cellulosic fiber fabric is desized, scoured and subjected to denier-reduction texturing in the composition by using a washer.
