PURPOSE: To easily obtain the subject compd. useful as a bleaching activator by two steps of process, by reacting a specific phenol derivative with an acid halide to obtain an intermediate of a new compd., and reacting the intermediate with a specific nucleophilic agent.
CONSTITUTION: An object compd. of formula VII, [where A = formula VIII, S, N(R4)2+; n=m], useful as a bleaching precursor or a detergent additive for laundry, is obtd. by reacting the phenol derivative of formula I, [where M1=H, alkali (earth)metal, N(R3)4+, (where R3=C1-6 alkyl); R2=SO3M, (where M=M1), CO2M, etc.], with the acid halide of formula II, (where X, Y=Cl, Br; R1=H, CH3), if necessary under the existence of a solvent and a phase conversion catalyst, to obtain the intermediate of formula III, which is a new compd., and reacting the intermediate with the nucleophilic agent of formula IV, (where R=C1-10 alkyl, cycloalkyl, etc.; M2=M1; m=0-4), formula, RSM2, formula V, or formula VI, (where R4=H, C1-20 alkyl), if necessary in a solvent.
