Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method for coping with data in plural data storage disks having a user data sector and a parity sector corresponding to it.
CONSTITUTION: In a low mode in which user data in the sector of an operation invalidating user data disk are restored from data in the sector of the other user data disk and a corresponding parity entry, plural data storage disks are used while operated. Before new data are written in the selected sector of one operating disk, the restored user data in the user data sector of the operation invalidating disk are written in the corresponding parity sector instead of the parity entry in a parity disk. Information for identifying the operation invalidating disk is written in the specific identified area of the parity disk for indicating that such operation already occurs. Afterwards, the new data are written in the corresponding sector of the operating disk.
