Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and surely suppress a discharging rate of HC and CO in exhaust gas by arranging an air assist type fuel injection device for directly injecting compressed air and fuel into a combustion chamber and control means for injecting only compressed air while an intake valve is closed during exhaust stroke of an engine. SOLUTION: In a cylinder injection type engine 1, an air assist type fuel injection device 4 is disposed facing an injection port 4a to a combustion chamber 5. In the fuel injection device 4, compressed air is supplied from a compressed air supplying pump 4e into a compressed air passage 4f at all times, and fuel is injected from a fuel injection valve 4g into the compressed air. A solenoid 4c is excited in a condition in which fuel is injected by a control command from an ECU 8 an opening/closing valve 4b is opened, and thereby, compressed air and fuel are injected together from an injection port 4a into the combustion chamber 5. While an intake valve 6a is closed during an exhaust stroke of the engine 1, the fuel injection device 4 is controlled by the ECU 8 so as to inject only compressed air.
