Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure a fitting space for an injector sideways on the intake port side of a combustion chamber and position an intake port rationally without increasing intake resistance in an in-cylinder injection type engine provided with an injector which injects and supplies fuel to the combustion chamber for stratified combustion. SOLUTION: An intake valve and an exhaust valve are disposed so that the inclination angle θ1 of the valve axis of an intake valve 10 to a cylinder bore axis may be smaller than the inclination angle θ2 of the valve axis of an exhaust valve 11. A wall surface on intake port opening side and a wall surface on exhaust port opening side at the ceiling part of a combustion chamber 5 are formed so that they may be orthogonal to the respective valve axes. An injector 15 is disposed at the lower part of a cylinder head 1 which is at the combustion chamber side on the intake port opening side. Intake ports 6, 7 which extend upward from the combustion chamber 5 to the cylinder head 1 side at a section between the injector 15 and the inlet valve axis.
