PURPOSE: To produce inexpensively and stably an electric welded pipe having stable quality by subjecting a pipe material to electric resistance welding while said material is kept immersed in fluid flowing in the same direction as the traveling direction of said material.
CONSTITUTION: A device for producing an electric welded pipe by an electric resistance method produces said pipe by heating an open pipe 2 introduced through a supply port 8 into a vessel 7 with electric resistance of a high frequency method by a work coil 5 while transferring said pipe in an arrow B direction, joining the heated edge parts by press contact with squeezing rolls 6 and taking out the resulted electric welded pipe 1 through a take-out port 9. The pipe 2 with such device is immersed from at least the heated area to the press contact area into the fluid D which is admitted into the vessel 7 through a supply pipe 10, flows out of a discharge pipe 11 and flows in the same direction as the traveling direction B of the pipe 2. Suspended matter, etc. are thus discharged and removed from the pipe 2 without forming oxide or oxide film to the part thereof to be heated and be brought into press contact and the bead having stable quality is formed.
