An in-pipe installation type heat exchange system 1 comprises: a heat pump unit 2; a plurality of heat taking pipes 7; and five sets of heat medium transport pipes 3 which circulate a heat medium between the heat pump unit 2 and the heat taking pipes 7. The five sets of heat medium transport pipes 3 have different length, respectively. The five sets of heat medium transport pipes 3 and the plurality of heat taking pipes 7 are divided into five piping systems 21, 22, ... using one set of heat medium transport pipes 3 and one group of heat taking pipe groups 8 to be branched and connected to the heat medium transport pipes 3 as one piping system. The heat taking pipe groups 8 in the five piping systems 21, 22, ... are arranged so as to align in an extension direction of a sewerage pipe 16.
