To provide an in-pipe moving device without being limited to a smoothly movable pipe body of a specified inner diameter.
This in-pipe moving device includes a spiral body 2, a propulsion mechanism 7 for generating propulsive force and a diameter expanding mechanism 4 for generating diameter expanding force for expanding a spiral diameter of the spiral body 2. The propulsion mechanism 7 is provided in a longitudinal member 5 to generate the propulsive force by imparting driving force in a direction inclined to an axially orthogonal direction of the spiral body 2 in relation to the longitudinal member 5 by frictional force between the propulsion mechanism 7 and an internal surface S of the pipe body P. The diameter expanding mechanism 4 is provided in the longitudinal member 5 to generate diameter expanding force by imparting force to the radial outside of the spiral body 2 in relation to the longitudinal member 5 by magnetic attraction force acting between the diameter expanding mechanism 4 and the internal surface S of the pipe body P. The in-pipe moving device is arranged in the pipe body P and is constituted to be movable along an axial direction of the pipe P since the propulsion mechanism 7 generates the propulsive force in a generated state of the diameter expanding force by the diameter expanding mechanism 4.
