To provide an in-vehicle communication system capable of maintaining the receiving state of communication from a theft report center by turning the power supply of a radio machine on, and minimizing power consumption by turning the power supply to a control part of an in-vehicle machine off.
The radio machine 20 obtains a transmission signal from the theft report center 1, and performs a signal receiving process. The radio machine 20 outputs a signal to indicate the reception of the signal to the in-vehicle machine 21. The in-vehicle machine 21 starts the control part of the in-vehicle machine when only a circuit to detect the reception signal in the radio machine 20 is on. It starts a process for determining a received telephone number when the control part is already on. It obtains a number notice signal generated from the theft report center 1. When receiving the signal from the theft report center 1, it starts a data communication process. When a data communication line is established between the in-vehicle communication system 2 and the theft report center 1, the in-vehicle machine 21 obtains the signal from the theft report center 1.
