Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an in-wheel drive unit which is high in quality and excellent in durability.SOLUTION: An in-wheel motor drive unit 21 comprises a rolling bearing 71 which rotatably supports an end of a motor rotating shaft 24 at an in-board side with respect to a casing 22 which holds a motor part A, and a lubrication mechanism which supplies a lubricant to each part of the motor part A and a speed reduction part B accompanied by the drive of the motor part A. The lubrication mechanism distributes the lubricant circulating in an oil passage 22a as a first oil passage formed in a wall of the casing 22 to an oil passage 24a as a second oil passage formed in the motor rotating shaft 24, and a bearing lubrication oil passage 76 which is formed between the motor rotating shaft 24 and the casing 22, and extends to the rolling bearing 71. A non-contact type seal member S which opposes an inner ring 72 as an inside raceway ring at its inside diameter end via a clearance Sr is arranged at an opening part of the rolling bearing 71.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
