Abstract:
To stably emit ultraviolet light in a space where persons exist to properly inactivate harmful microorganisms and viruses.SOLUTION: An inactivation device emits ultraviolet light in a space which is included in transportation means for transporting persons and goods and in which persons exist to inactivate microorganisms and/or viruses existing in the space. The inactivation device includes an ultraviolet irradiation unit having an ultraviolet light source that emits light including ultraviolet light having a wavelength that inactivates microorganisms and/or viruses, and a control unit that controls irradiation of the light by the ultraviolet light source. The ultraviolet light source is an LED. The ultraviolet light contained in the light emitted from the ultraviolet light source includes ultraviolet light in a wavelength range of 200 nm to 240 nm. The ultraviolet irradiation unit is fixed to the transportation means. The LED is either an aluminum gallium nitride (AlGaN)-based LED or an aluminum nitride (AlN)-based LED.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
