To provide an incinerator wherein an entire apparatus is made small- sized by concentrating a gas generation section and a burning section at one position, and smoke is difficult to be generated.

There are provided a gasifying melting container 10 for melting and gasifying an inserted combustible waste, and a burning furnace 20 for containing the gasifying melting container 10 and having a gas burner 21 for heating the gasifying and melting container 10. Upon starting of operation auxiliary fuel gas is introduced into the gas burner 21 and burned whereby combustible waste is gasified, and after product gas is produced, the product gas is introduced into and burned in the gas burner 21 whereby the gasifying melting container 10 is heated. Combustion gas in the burning furnace 20 is exhausted to the atmosphere through an exhaust duct 27 and a smokestack 35, and thereupon any harmful matter remaining in the combustion gas is removed through a first filter 31, a second filter 32, and a third filter 34 provided in the middle thereof.
