The inclined trailing arm type suspension 10 has an inclined trailing arm 11 in inclination to the horizontal direction. The inclination angle ν of the inclined trailing arm 11 to the horizontal direction is set in the range 30-70 degrees. The mounting angle η of a spring 13 and an absorber 14 to the inclined trailing arm 11 is set in the range η=-0.7×ν+97±10 degrees. A trailing arm hinge 15 is arranged so that its compliance in the vertical direction and torsion direction becomes as small as possible. The length in axial direction of the inclined trailing arm 11 is set to not more than 300 mm.
