Title:
INCREMENTAL ENCODER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH08178700
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an incremental encoder in which a standard point or zero point can be detected without rotating a rotor once by forming a plurality of indexes on a rotor.

CONSTITUTION: Until a detecting means detects an index I1 and an index I2 arranged in the next position, a main scale is counted, and the angle or distance L0 from the standard position to the index I2 is determined by the count number Kx. The angle or distance L1 from the index I2 to an optional position is determined by the count number K2 from the index I2 to the optional position, and the angle or distance L0 from the standard position to the index I2 is added to this angle or distance L1, whereby the angle or distance to the optional position can be determined.
