To provide an incubator capable of preventing air in the exterior of the incubator from invading into the incubating (storing) chamber.
The incubator comprises a heat-insulating box body having an opening at the front face, a heat-insulating door attached to the heat-insulating box body so as to be freely opened and closed, a transparent inside door for closing the opening so as to be freely opened and closed, and the storing chamber surrounded by the inside door and the heat-insulating box body and for culturing a sample such as a cell and a microorganism. The heat-insulating box body has a metallic outer box, a metallic inner box, an insulating material layer arranged between the outer box and the inner box and in the inside of the outer box, and an air layer arranged at a more inner side than the insulating layer, and is constituted so that the pressure in the storing chamber may be higher than that at the exterior space of the incubator.
