To provide a simple structure and a light-weight independent suspension for a vehicle which increases an allowable load, while sufficiently securing the strength of a car body side member by intervening a coil spring and a torsion bar spring arranged between an arm member and the vehicle body side member in the front/rear direction of the vehicle.
A coil spring 52 is intervened between a lower arm 40 and a cross member 14b of an under carriage frame 10, namely, a car body side member and a torsion bar spring 62 extending in the front/rear direction of the vehicle is arranged between the lower arm 40 and a bracket 66 fixed to a side rail 12. The front axle load is thus carried by the coil spring 52 and the torsion bar spring 62 so that a large front axle load such as a truck can be sufficiently born. This constitution can prevent the front axle from being concentrated in one point of the under carriage frame 10 so as to easily secure the strength of the under carriage frame 10 as the car body side member.
